Some sessions stand out for being so unique. This was one of them.

When Ms. D told me she wanted to channel Wonder Woman, I thought, “Awesome!” But then when she mentioned she actually spent part of her career administering polygraph tests? No effing way!

I got chills. 

The lasso of truth? And she worked with real lie detectors? That’s some full circle magic! Add in the fact that she was stepping in front of my camera to uncover something true about herself and it’s just the cherry on top. 

Many Sides of the Same Woman

We built this session around different energies that lived inside her, and I think that’s what made it so powerful and memorable. 

There was the Wonder Woman side. Strong and fierce and completely at home in her own body. We played with rich color and bold poses and captured a woman just knows herself and knows herself well. 

And then there was the other side. Dark and witchy and moody and totally different vibe. The kind of images that feel like they hold a secret. Like she knows something you don’t. Because she does. 

We also captured the boss babe and the soft gorgeous beauty. All of those women were her. And even though they carried different vibes, they had one thing in common: this woman knows her power.

She Walked In Already Beautiful

Ms. D has this short hair and these bold, striking eyes and lips that just stop you. There was nothing to fix, nothing to change. My only job was to make sure the camera saw what I saw the second she walked through the door. 

That’s the thing about boudoir that I wish every woman understood before she talked herself out of it. You don’t have to become someone else for this. You don’t have to be thinner or younger or different. You just have to show up. The rest is already there.

She Came Ready to Play

Ms. D did the work ahead of time. She thought about what she wanted, she showed up with intention, and she gave everything in front of that camera. When someone brings that kind of energy into the studio, something shifts. The photos aren’t just pretty, they’re emotional. They feel alive. They feel like her.

We laughed. We got dramatic and bold. We captured her inner badass, her beauty, and her power. It was one of those days I drove home thinking, “this is why I love my job”.
